The Football Academy concept for Premiership and Nationwide League clubs is one of a number of concepts developed by Design and Construction Solutions Limited (formerly Teather Walls Architects Limited) which are suitable for producing exciting bespoke buildings based on a range of standard components. The advantages of this approach can be compared to the car industry with the evolution of a better engineered product and enhanced value for money. Design and Construction Solutions Limited is committed to developing this method of approach wherever the opportunity presents itself.
In conjunction with structural engineers Dossor East, Design and Construction Solutions Limited have evolved a method for providing the structure and external envelope to cover a full size football pitch with space for adjoining support areas and raked seating, all for less than the cost of a profiled metal clad portal frame factory. The concept incorporates the use of a similar tensile skin to that used in the support areas to the London Dome, providing a low glare naturally lit environment.
